Lady Slippers
Recently a friend shared her pink moccasin flowers with me. These are a kind of lady slipper flower. I returned a second time to check my measurements and to be sure the size was correct.
Of course, these flowers shouldn’t be picked, because they are too precious and very unique. I took great care not to step on them as I photographed and drew them.
They have a special association with a fungus in the ground and do not transplant easily. They should not be disturbed, and usually die if transplanted
