Lysimachia ciliata
Loosestrife gets a bad name because of the purple loosestrife that has invaded the wetlands in northern Wisconsin. There are many kinds of loosestife, though, and some of them seem benign. This rather modest flower has proliferated in a shady area near our house, where we have neglected mowing. It doesn’t seem to cause any trouble, and is a rather interesting addition to the wild plants.
